The Social Sector and COVID-19
As a result of sudden changes(i.e remote working, laying off staff or salary cut) in our environment due to coronavirus (COVID-19), many people are dealing with physical, mental and financial trauma.
In light of this, The Chris Ogunbanjo Foundation supported YAP&E (Young Adult Professionals and Entrepreneurs) in partnership with Philanthropy Circuit to host her Social Sector Networking Event themed “The Social Sector and COVID-19: Mental Health and Organizational Challenges During a Pandemic”.
The webinar was an opportunity for Social Sector leaders to connect, share and learn from each other while curating positive solutions to help build resilient communities and organizations to withstand these challenging times. It was also tailored to provide solutions and tips for maintaining a mentally balanced life and organizational challenges during the pandemic in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-Being.
The webinar was successful and engaging as participants were excited about the pointers shared on reliable ways of maintaining health and wellness and practical steps non-profits can take to pivot in the face of the real challenges that come with a pandemic.
As we continue to navigate this phase, we must attend to our mental health and wellness with utmost priority.
