7-Days Virtual Facemask Training
Face masks have become essential as we gradually embrace changes in our environment due to the coronavirus pandemic. But, we must save surgical masks for our healthcare workers and first responders; hence the need to use a double-lined cotton mask that you can wash after every use.
Following the measures put in place by the government due to the pandemic i.e compulsory use of facemasks by individuals in public spaces; the foundation designed a 7-days virtual facemask training in partnership with ZOHZA Apparel through the Center for Private Enterprise and Industrial Society.
The training was aimed to empower individuals to make their face masks for personal use or business purpose (i.e generate income by selling a face mask)
A total of fifty people joined the training group online. At the end of the training, some of the participants gave positive feedback on how they have been able to make facemasks for their families and a few others also shared how they have started earning from selling face masks they made.
Without predictions on the life span of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we must continue to follow the safety guidelines of regular hand washing and the use of facemasks.
