A Social Sector Networking Event
In celebration of World NGO day, a social sector networking event hosted by Philanthropy Circuit, Young Adult Professionals and Entrepreneurs (YAP&E) and supported by The Chris Ogunbanjo Foundation took place on Thursday 28th February at The Backyard Grill, Victoria Island, Lagos. Leaders of NGOs came together to connect, share and learn. The event created a relaxing and conducive environment where guests shared their success stories from our previous networking events and explored opportunities for collaborations and partnerships towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals before 2030.
We hosted various organizations including Women Economic And Leadership Transformation Initiative (WELTI), Ford Foundation, A3C Consultants, Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) and Spirit of Lagos just to mention a few.
The Executive Director of The Chris Ogunbanjo Foundation and founder of Young Adult Professionals and Entrepreneurs, Ms Funke Shonekan welcomed the guests and introduced the event by encouraging everyone to network and enjoy the evening.
Some testimonials include the following:
Cece Yara Foundation was thrilled to let us know that they had entered a partnership with Rape One Rape All Organization which they met at one of our events. They have also applied for the Epic Africa Award through our networking platform.
Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) met with the founder of Child Life Line, Mrs Sally Udoma at our social sector networking event of November. They are currently working together towards a huge project for schools. The representative of JAN at this event also met with an ex-beneficiary of JAN school programs, Tosan Wiltshire. Tosan immediately offered to volunteer with JAN as a way of giving back to the society.
The first quarter’s social sector networking event was a success and we envisage impactful and mutually beneficial collaborations in the social sector, among non-governmental organizations and in the society at large.
